Letterboxd
Just shy of slapstick, with funny but oddly drawn out scenes of humor. It has been a long time since I have seen a comedy (romance?) with this sort of pacing.
I thought there was some refreshing camera work as well. One scene where the Uncle's face in profile envelopes the whole frame was distinct. I remember seeing shots of just the sun or the surroundings at points.
In comedy, you get so used to the "talking heads" format of most films that you forget that the cast & crew can express themselves through things other than the dialog.
