Damnit Google. I pay you $13.99 a month to not see ads. I have been doing this for over a decade. I have clearly indicated through every avenue that I can that I don't want to see "promoted" content from FIFA. Not only do I not care, but I consider them to be a deeply corrupt organization that I don't want to support. I have twiced ask you not to give me anything about FIFA and you just keep pushing it into any orifice you can find.
This is how you get piracy. You offer no actual way for people to consume your content without subjecting them to undue hardship.
I don't think I have ever seen an add online and then said "I'll buy that", so they know that this is an incredibly inefective strategy. They literally just need to show it to me so that they can claim that people in my demographics are looking at their ads. They must recognize that the efficacy is pathetic, but they need to include me in the pool in order to sell my potential eyeballs to some next sucker.
I have been on Kagi for multiple years now because I was so sick of the pollution of the search bar on Google. You are just encouraging those with the means to pay for a competitor with this nonsense.
Google, recognize that you are canibalizing your own goodwill by doing stuff like this. If someone is paying YOU to not see ads, respect their choice.
